The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) took its countrywide
rallies to press for national dialogue over challenges facing the nation
to Tononoka grounds in Mombasa.
Led by former prime minister Raila Odinga, the opposition insisted
that the Jubilee government must agree to dialogue by the opposition by
the 7th of nextmonth, or else Kenyans will collectively take a decision
on the next course of action.
Odinga also scoffed at threats by internal security cabinet secretary
Joseph Ole Lenku that he had crossed the line with his declaration of
July 7th as a national holiday, claiming the the constitution allowed
him to do so.
