MUTAHI NGUNYI CLAIMS MPEKETONI ATTACK WAS ''RENTED TERRORISM''

Political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi has given his take on Monday’s Mpeketoni attacks and deviates from the beliefs of many that they were orchestrated by the terrorist group Al-Shabaab.
Ngunyi of the famed “Tyranny of Numbers” warned Kenyans not to believe that the terror group was behind the attacks. He called such beliefs naive and misplaced and believes this was “rented terrorism”.
Ngunyi said that he does not believe that Al-Shabaab has taken blame for the attacks as the claims have not been verified. The man believed to have aced the outcome of the 2013 Kenyan polls went on to say that he believes this is MRC (MRC [Mombasa Republican Council) reloaded.
Earlier this month, there were fears that the MRC had rebranded and was in the process of recruiting new members.
